A youth who tried to snatch a gold chain from a woman in Langer Houz in the city died of injuries he suffered while escaping on Sunday. As the woman raised an alarm, neighbors chased the miscreant.
Tahir climbed on a building and tried to jump on to another building in a bid to run away. However, he was badly injured when he fell on an iron rod which pierced his thigh. Then the locals handed him over to the police. He was admitted to Osmania General Hospital where he died undergoing treatment.
