The satellite war between leading entertainment channels is fetching good income for the Film Producers. Even before the release, Business of all the four Sankranthi releases have been closed.
MAA TV has become very calculative in terms of dealing with Satellite Rights of films. Off late, The Media House has become very choosey and is in no mood to hurry.
On the other hand, Gemini TV has been quite aggressive in this aspect to make their Opponents stand on their toes. It secured the Satellite Rights of all the three Sankranthi biggies for fancy prices and the collective amount stood at Rs 23 crore. While Nannaku Prematho rights were bagged for Rs 10.25 crore, Soggade Chinni Nayana and Dictator got sold out for Rs 6.5 crore and 6.25 crore respectively. As of now, Gemini is dominating in terms of no. of films it managed to secure. But, A lot depends on the Box Office success of these Pongal releases.
