Acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has done something that no director would ever dare to do. He along with his business partners promised to pay back Rs 90 crore to a Production House.
Apparently, Fox Star Studios produced Anurag Kashyap's period flick 'Bombay Velvet' and the film was a colossal flop at the Box Office. The filmmaker was guilt of the fact that its because of him the Production House lost Rs 90 crore on the project. So, He convinced the partners (Madhu Mantena, Vikramaditya Motwane and Vikad Bahl) of his production house 'Phantom Films' that they need to compensate the total loss.
As a first installment, Phantom Films has paid Rs 10 crore to Fox Star Studios. The production house issued an official statement saying the balance amount will be settled in installments by the end of 2016.
Have anyone ever heard of a Director going to such an extent to bear the losses? Kudos to Anurag Kashyap!
